I've never liked going to the dentist much, in the past I've always ended up with overly aggressive dentists. Something about multiple hands trying to poke, scratch, and even drown you all while blinding you even when your else are closed. That's not my idea of a good time. So I kept my distance, doing so my teeth suffered naturally...
My wife however loves going to the dentist and had a visit with Dr. Swonke and said that he was like no one she ever went to before, he was real gentle and the office staff were super friendly and got her in and out. She also told me she made me an appointment.
Finding out I had to go to the dentist, I wasnt thrilled even with how much my wife talked them up, after all what does she know she loves the dentist... So of course I give in and head to the office. The office is extremely nice when you walk in. There's s play area for the kids, so my daughter was immediately entertained. Well that's a good start im thinking. Amy behind the desk was extremely nice and helpful getting the paperwork taken care of in a blink of a eye and by the time I sit back down on the couch I got called to the bank. So far So good.. all the dental assistant are extremely nice, very talkative and genuinely interested in getting to know their patients. Even once in the chair they talk you through what they are going to be doing and distracting you with small talk while gently doing whatever needs to be done. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Swonkes tremendous staff.
Dr. Swonke on the other hand, he has completely changed my mind on going to the dentist. I have now been going to him and his staff for almost 2 years. He is very kind and light handed when it comes to any areas that need extra attention. He is very polite as well as understanding to everyones different pain tolerance continually asking if you are okay. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to his profession. What went from being a ongoing nightmare for me has turned into a nice, rather relaxing, family friendly dentist that isn't afraid to go the extra mile to make sure you and your family leave with a big smile on your face showing those nice pearly white teeth you deserve. ????
Dr. Swonke made my smile so beautiful for my wedding day! The whole office has become extended family and I’m just so grateful for the confidence I have now! Smiling all the time! ????❤️
Let me start off by saying that I had nightmares for days leading up to my appointment. It’s been years since I’ve seen a dentist and I would identify dental visits as my greatest fear in life. From my perspective, dentists are right up there with killer clowns, spiders, and homicidal maniacs-which would explain why I’ve avoided them for so long.
Over the past few years, I’ve started getting frustrated with the decline of my oral health. I have missing fillings, missing teeth, retained primary teeth, teeth with cavities, ugly teeth..pretty much the whole nine yards.
I recently had my last child (#4 so, there will be no more!) and my BIG DAY is coming up in June (finally getting married!) So, I decided it’s time to focus on me and I made the appointment with Dr. Swonke’s office, who was highly recommended to me by his son, who works for our business.
Today was that appointment. I didn’t sleep last night. Partly due to my 4 week old son and partly because I knew I was going to die today. Haha
When I arrived, the receptionist immediately made me feel at ease. She welcomed me by name and was SO warm and nice. I was distracted by the impending trauma with some paperwork and then the hygienist called my name.
As I followed her back-I dreaded explaining why I had gone so long without seeing a dentist and felt so sorry that she had to get me as a patient. And I also wondered when the pain was going to start.
I didn’t have to explain anything. She was personable, calming, and distracting. She would pop in a few questions here and there about my teeth- where was I hurting, what did I want to change, what were my concerns...but, it mostly consisted of questions about my kids and our business....personal stuff that was fun and exciting to talk about.
Dr. Swonke came in and I expected him to be very concerned about all the holes in my teeth. (And if I’m honest-I also expected to see a huge needle and evil maniacal eyes behind a pair of magnifying glasses.) but, none of that was true. He listened to me. And then he said something I never expected. He said he was going to make it a priority to help me have the beautiful smile I want for my wedding day.
I swore all dentists were drill hungry. Other dentists I’ve seen in the past always dismissed my concern about how my smile looked and focused on the other stuff. But, it was so refreshing to have a dentists not blink an eye and be so confident that he could handle all the problems my mouth had.
His exam didn’t hurt one bit. Neither did the cleaning that the hygienist did after. I was pain free and comfortable the ENTIRE visit.
I have another appointment scheduled for Thursday to get started on some of the work...and I’m actually looking forward to it! I cannot wait to have a healthy mouth and beautiful smile and I feel confident that Dr. Swonke and his team are going to make it happen as comfortable and as pain free as possible.
I can not recommend Dr. Swonke and his staff enough!!
Dr. Swonke is amazing and the entire stuff is just phenomenal. They are all such a good team together.I could not believe how nice and professional everyone was and how pain free my visit was. So glad I have found a dentist I can come back to and refer my friends/co workers to. I would give more stars if I could!
Highly recommend this office! I am always pretty nervous about going to the dentist because I hate pain, but i have to say that this was one of my most pleasant experiences! From the super friendly front staff to my actual cleaning and fillings, it was pain free.
After my appointment, my husband scheduled also and has some pretty significant fillings done. He said that Dr Swonke restored his faith in dentists. If you knew my husband you would know what a huge compliment that is!
We will continue to come to this practice for anything we need done and would definitely advise others to go as well.
On a side note, we also love the play space for kids that they have in the front office space. It helps keep my toddler entertained during our appointments and is super family friendly.
