Southern Star Speech and Language Therapy, Rachael Harrelson, MS CCC-SLP

Racheal has been working with our 5yo son for about 6 months now, and he has made so much more progress than we ever expected with his language skills. He LOVES going to see and play with Mrs. Racheal and he connects so well with her. Our son is normally hesitant about meeting new adults, but the minute she sat down with him, he knew she was there to help him. She has given him the gift of confidence in his communication and we couldn’t be more thankful. We are so happy with our decision to take him to Southern Star Speech and we hope to get our daughter in soon, too!

Rachael has been amazing with our spunky 3, now 4 year old. We started last fall/winter and my daughter has made amazing strides in her speech since then. We went in with complete strangers and some family members not understanding her at all. Now she is understood by people who have met her once! Rachael is the epitome of patient and my daughter loves going to play with Mrs. Rachael. She is excellent at communicating the happenings in her practice as well as is very flexible in appointments and accommodating our needs and our busy lives. Our family absolutely ADORES Mrs. Rachael. My son started seeing her at age 4 with minimal language skills, he immediately took to her and they had the sweetest bond. Within 4mos he graduated and hasn’t stopped talking since! Anytime I see someone asking for recommendations for speech therapists, Southern Star is and always will be my one and only referral. Mrs. Rachael is kind, professional, qualified and has integrity. She didn’t try to keep us longer than necessary, she was great at communicating his triumphs and progress every month and gave us tools to use and practice at home to help his development.

We started with Rachael a couple of months ago and are so happy to have found her! We had been with another speech therapist for about 7 months and Rachael almost immediately noticed some things they had missed and was able to adjust his goals to help him be more successful. Our son loves going to see her and always asks when he gets to go back. We already see improvement and love how informative she is as to how he is doing. We highly recommend Rachael!

Rachael has been a blessing to my son and our family. We previously were with a different speech therapist and my son wasn’t improving but since the short time that we have been with Rachael I have seen improvement and it makes me excited about all that he is going to be able to achieve while being in Rachaels care. My son loves coming to speech and looks forward to it every time. He had a tongue tie revision at 3 years old and is working on relearning to use his tongue correctly to pronounce words. We were recommended to come here by some close friends of ours that come here as well and we are so very thankful we were told about Southern Star because it has been a real blessing to our family.
