(November 17, 2018, 7:43 pm)Home to the endangered Red Cockaded Woodpecker. This is strictly a pack it in and pack it out park, no Trash cans. So please practice the leave no trace rules. There is a Porto potty at the west parking lot. Hiked 4.7 miles here today and barely scratched the surface of the trails. Nice place to get away for horse back riding, dog walking, bird watching, or conditioning for a long backpacking hike. Very peaceful deep into the back trails. You can forget about the concrete jungle for a little while and soak up some sounds of nature.
