Pier 99 Restaurant

CRAB WAS AWESOME! Great location! 4-stars only because of the wait, which was completely understandable since it's right on the shore next to the Lexington. Outdoors, live music, lively atmosphere. Signs up saying they were short-staffed, so the 45 min wait (which was really about an hour & 20 min) was fine, especially since storm clouds were coming in and they were attempting to accommodate being that they have mostly outdoor seating. Luckily, it didn't rain. Walked down the sidewalk along side the Lexington during our wait since it's right outside the wait area.
2-year-old had the popcorn shrimp and loved it! Fried green tomatoes were delicious aside from a couple of them having uncooked batter on the inside, sauce with the tomatoes was delicious. The crab was the BEST I think my husband and I have ever had!!!! Such big pieces and yummy corn! Finished off dinner with a slice of key lime pie that was the perfect touch of creamy and tart 😋 this was a fabulous birthday dinner for me with my little family! Would recommend to everyone that visits!

Great place for lunch if you are visiting the USS Lexington and/or the Texas State Aquarium. Good food and live music. Loved reading about the history behind the restaurant, and enjoyed the rustic feel. This is a very busy restaurant. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for most menu items being sold out, and my plate arriving with one side less than I was assured was on hand. None the less I look forward to returning!
