I took all 3 of my kids to Lake Pointe Pediatrics the entire 18 years of pediatric care. Both Dr. Wieland and Dr. London were both exceptional over the years. Yes, there is a sick and well child waiting room....the sick child waiting room doesn't have toys for obvious reason, but the well child waiting room does have a grocery cart with groceries and there are Dr. Suess books in each exam room. But that is minor compared to the wonderful care you get.
I've only been there once. I noticed the bad reviews only after I was already on the way. I must say it is true that you will wait over an hour over your scheduled time but that is because Dr. Weiland will really take a look at your kid and explain everything to you and answer all your questions with no rush. I'd rather wait and have the doctor be thorough than have on schedule appointments and feel like they just want to get it over with. The office didn't look old or run down, it looked clean and well kept. There are two waiting rooms, one for "well" and one for "sick", they are both small and only have a plastic fruit basked as entertainment. So I'm only taking 1 star off for not having a nice waiting room with stuff to entertain the kids but you can always prepare for that and bring your own toys.
We have been coming here for over six years. I have four children and would not trust them with with anyone other than Dr. London. She is so amazing, I never have a problem with her staff either. My son is now fearful when he sees nurse Jackie because she administers the shots. (Jackie is wonderful) he just associates her with shots now after having them for 6 years.
One thing I do love is how there is a "sick" waiting room and a "well" waiting room. The only downfall is how they schedule so few well checks a day, I am understanding this is common practice though with all doctors. I couldn't imagine my kids going anywhere else.
