  My friend and I and our sons had a great time staying at the Country Woods Inn! The South wing of the Prairie House was perfect for the 4 of us and our boys loved how close we were to the river where they could swim and slide down into the water. We enjoyed a nice fire in the fire pit and had smores one night. The hammock was a great addition for the boys and they spent lots of time there. The petting zoo area was fun with all the bunnies and Wendy cooked a delicious breakfast on Saturday morning! We were about 5 minutes from everything we wanted to do! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place for the kids, but also close to town and swimming. Wendy even found our stuffed animal we left behind right after we left and immediately let us know, so we could go back and get it. Top notch service!

  My family made a last-minute plan to have a quiet weekend away. Booking was easy. Wendy, the manager, was very accommodating and kept us informed even with our late arrival. The house
  
  was clean and comfortable. The facility was just adorable for a country setting. Breakfast was amazing. Even our dog gives Country Woods 5 stars.

  My daughter and 2 small grandkids came for a few days to get away and relax. We stayed in the historic, quaint Prairie House and it was a wonderful experience. The property is really lovely and peaceful. From the firepits, hammocks placed in shady, peaceful areas, outdoor games, and plethora of farm animals to enjoy, the Country Woods Inn is ideal for families and family gatherings. My 2-year old granddaughter loved the children's library and art studio right in the middle of the llama/goat/sheep coral. I know we'll be back in the future.

  My husband and I stayed here with our two young sons (2.5 yrs and 8 months), and I have to say, I am so glad that we booked with The Country Woods Inn. We made memories that will last a lifetime, and we will certainly be returning to vacation here in the future! It is the ideal venue for young kids - from petting and feeding all of the amazing farm animals, to the toddler library and art station, to the playground and games scattered throughout, and the absolutely amazing and helpful staff (especially Wendy). We were there for five nights, and wished we could have stayed for more! My 2.5 year old loved waking up to the sounds of the animals and would rush out to greet them and give them snacks, and he liked watching us cook around the campfire and grill at night - he never wanted to come back inside! I whole-heartedly recommend The Country Woods Inn to any and all families who want to vacation in Glen Rose, TX!

  If you’re looking for a place with a little bit of everything and lots of charm, this place is perfect! The cabin was so cute and very cozy, generous in size, comfy beds, tons of games and books, all kinds of animals and lots of peace and quiet. Our host Wendy went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and even went the extra mile by providing home cooked breakfasts during spring break with farm fresh eggs and made from scratch waffles and blueberry muffins! 😍 This place is a gem and I’m so glad we found it!
