I just spoke with Dr. Carney for the first time. He was so easy to talk to. He is down to earth. He really listened to me. He gave me wonderful insight. I was very anxious to speak with him. I am so glad I was able to meet with him - he was worth the wait!

Long version: Dr. Carney has been working with me for some time now and is a tremendous help. I appreciate his ability to see situations for what they really are rather than through rose colored glasses or a fogged up window. Therapy isn't easy, but he facilitates countless opportunities for growth and change in your life.

I scouted a large handful of therapists in my search for help, but I knew from the consultation that I'd be coming back to Carney Counseling. Sitting in a therapist's office, it's easy, and even expected, to feel like a patient or client. I can confidently say that I have never felt this way with Dr. Carney. Meeting with him, you feel welcomed, accepted, and comfortable.

Dr. Carney is helping me have a better life, becoming a better person and showing me that things really can change for the better with the right help (even in what may seem like the darkest of times). So much positive has happened since he started treating me. I do believe that the rapport we have (which seemed to happen instantly) put me at ease and allowed me to be completely open and honest about every aspect of my life so he could do his best work with my situations. I would assume nobody enjoys airing their dirty laundry and looking inward to the roles we play in our troubles. However, I feel completely comfortable doing so with Mike and I genuinely feel that he wants to be a part of my transformation into a better life. Not every doctor is right for every patient (it took 3 different therapists to find mine) and not every patient is right for every doctor.
