I am 76 years old and, like many seniors, was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease. For about five months I had tingling pains in my left hip and leg. This time I asked for help. 25 years ago I had similar pains in my right shoulder. But unlike now, I ignored the pains ... until the neck disk ruptured. The result was the most agonizing pain I have ever known, a difficult hospital stay, and long recovery.
For me, Dr. Patel performed minimally invasive lumbar "micro-something" surgery. To me, these surgeries appear near miracles. No hospital stay, a three-inch incision, no stitches, immediate relief of my symptoms, no pain medication needed after the first day (though available at all times), and an easy six-week recovery. My wife Carrie and I have followed the good doctor's directives carefully - walking, physical therapy, and no bending-lifting-twisting. In nine days my recovery period is finished. Carrie and I have already begun the long walks together we cherish so greatly.

First meeting with Dr Patel, and I LOVE HIM! He seems very compassionate, very kind, and very relatable! He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about my condition. He's also direct and honest, no sugarcoating, which I sooooo appreciate. After a diagnostic, I will see him again, and I'm guessing plans will be discussed re: surgery. After talking with him AND doing a bit of research, I trust him wholeheartedly to perform what I've been told is a very long, complicated surgery. My only "con" with regards to Dr Patel??? He's a damn Republican! 😝

Dr. Patel and his staff are amazing!! Best surgeon in north Texas hands down!! He is open and honest and let's you make the best most informed decision for yourself. They are always very responsive and get back with you quickly if not immediately. Had a disc replaced in my neck. They were very attentive post surgery to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Personally called to check on me. He was awesome with my kids when I had to bring them into an appointment. I would highly recommend him to anyone having issues!! I will not go anywhere else!!

Dr. Patel and his team are amazing. They take the time to answer any and all of your questions. He explained my procedure, and made me feel at ease. He checked on me daily while in the hospital, and answered everything post surgery. He truly cares about his patients, and puts you at ease during it all. His staff is incredibly friendly very visit, and anytime I called. I’m well on my way to recovering thanks to Dr. Patel and his staff.
