The place is nice I guess, lots of programs to choose from, but still nothing prestigious. The main problem I've encountered so far is that the school has this odd prerogative to separate STEM children from regular children. This is severe to the point of when I personally was talking to fellow students who were enrolled in the STEM program in the library after school, just talking, a teacher came over and told them that they MUST be in the STEM part of the library(even though the part of the library we were in was still open till 3:30) and that I (a non-STEM enrolled student) was not allowed. Other than the apparent intellectual segregation, not bad, would learn again.
I'm sure you know who I am, because of my well known role as the face of Martin Student News. I have great pride in my position in the Theatre Department as Junior Historian Officer. Along with my accomplishments in the arts, I attend Young life and Ignite weekly. I am also apart of the AVID club, and very involved with community service. I will proudly say, Martin High School has given me all the opportunities that has made me into the person I am today. The faculty, administration, and student life is spectacular, especially since I, myself, have given my soul to this institution. I will forever be a Warrior.
I currently attend this school, I'm a junior and my sister is a senior and I have to say the school isn't really as bad as I thought. There's a lot of diversity here and everybody can make friends quick here. This is a good choice if you're new to the Arlington area, the staff, teachers, and students are pretty lit.
Although I was rivals with Martin High School years ago, I still have the utmost respect for this institution. There have been incredible alumni from Martin, and the staff is ranked at the top of the city rankings. If you are trying to decide where to send your middle school student, give Martin heavy consideration!
