Enjoy walking the trails. Plenty of playgrounds some recently updated. My favorite part is the wildlife sanctuary. Saw kestrel last time I was there.
Great place to easily walk or ride on a paved path OR get on a soil trail and walk along the creek. But be aware-disc golfers do throw their disc at the baskets you see along the way...they are kind and courteous and will often wait for pedestrians to clear the way as to not SMACK them with a disc (frisbee)
This is a large park with many trails, and everyone can find something interesting to do here from riding a bicycle or playing the ball through walking or sitting somewhere with a book. There are not many sitting areas, though, and the few benches around are not placed in the shade, but one can always stretch a blanket somewhere or bring a folding chair. The park is very much alive and keeps changing with every season. Contemplate by the creeks and the flora; they are beautiful and soothing.
We saw snakes, turtles, fish, frogs and skipped rocks...can't believe we've lived in the area for 3 years and never been here!
We only explored a small portion of the park, but it was nice and peaceful. We entered from the playground area at Bluebonnet Elementary and headed north under Basswood Blvd.
Seems to be a good creek-fishing spot.
