So glad the studio is being carried on. Was just there to visit Will the other day and heard one of his young students playing Lagrima VERY well and had to fight off tears. The place looks great and I feel like Michael would be so happy!
Go here for guitar lessons. It has been the best place in Fort Worth for guitar music education since Michael started it in the 1980’s!
I've been taking lessons with the Maestro (Will Douglas) for over two years now. Will has to be the most patient person the planet to give me lessons for so long. He works with your skill level and breaks down the music so that you can truly understand what you are working on. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone from beginner to seasoned professional.
Michael and Will are incredibly kind, talented and patient teachers. You won’t regret picking guitar studio for lessons and an educational experience in music.
It hurts a bit, right in the age-related feels, to write this, but when I took lessons from Michael (and his apprentice at that time), it was 2000 when I left (I took lessons for almost a year).
So, 21 years ago. Jesus, time is a heartless beeyotch, huh?
Anyway, Michael was great. Didn't give me sheeit for my 200 dollar nylon string while he had guitars on the wall worth 20,000 and more. Dayam.
Professional guitarist - if you meet him ask him about a couple things which I think are great stories, one of which is his travel experience in a 60's rock band, opening for The Grateful Dead, during which he asked Jerry Garcia - known for his enjoyment of chemical delights - about playing altered. He told me he said, "Jerry, how do you play stoned? I can't go onstage stoned, I can't play."
Jerry's words of wisdom were, "My boy, to play stoned, you've got to *practice* stoned."
Words to live by, man.
Micheal has the patience of Christ, and when I knew him, the long hair and beard/mustache combo to play him in any Revival of "Hair: The Musical," and I can't even giggle enough to say how happy I am seeing he is still teaching morons like me to play our first Segovia piece.
Mr.Dailey is the only instructor I recommend to people when looking for quality guitar education. His ability to play classical guitar is impeccable. He goes step-by-step in every lesson making sure the student has full understanding of each lesson. His knowledge of music theory is astounding which in turn leaves you feeling like you have learned something new at the end of every lesson. He is not only a mentor but a good friend as well and is always there for you when you need help. The Guitar Studio is by far the best place to go when looking for the highest quality in guitar lessons.
