Tall grass and no landing lights for night flying. Gate is locked and you can call the number for someone to come and open up the gate. Good tarmac surface overall for us flying in a mooney.
Over 10 years ago I started my flight training. I stopped after only 10 hours in. I am very utilitarian in nature and I did not see myself actually taking advantage of my license at that time in my life. I started again a few weeks ago @ T67 and I was not feeling that any progress was being made. I switched instructors (back to my original one). Such a difference. I am flying with Ron Guyre at Sycamore 9F9. He will throw you in situations and let you figure them out. Ron has soloed more pilots than I have birthdays. His transfer of knowledge is impeccable. I even caught myself calling him "Sir" many times while I was oversaturated in flight. (Yes, sir, no, Sir, Left climb to 180 sir to 3200. We are now at 180/3200, sir.) I seemed to be reverting back to my military days. I have so much respect for him.
Ron and Connie are like family to the aviation community! Love this place. It's my roots in aviation. 2864Q will be in my logbook forever
I was taught to fly by the late great Charlie Wilkerson - what a thrill! 6-4 Quebec is etched permanently in my mind
Great place to learn to fly. Love the nostalgic feel of the place and the warm, friendly atmosphere. Ron is a great instructor!
