During the pandemic, I've really been trying to support local yarn stores. However, I found that the ones in Dallas 1) don't have functional websites, 2) have barely functional websites that make it hard to navigate their selection online, 3) have a very limited selection with only one or two skeins/hanks per thing, 4) aren't open and don't offer curbside, or 5) a combination of all those factors.
West 7th wool has a fantastic website. It's very well designed and very easy to use, even on a mobile phone. They also have a very large selection of yarn. The pictures are well done, so it was really easy for me to tell the true color of the yarn from the website. The descriptions of the yarn are really nice. And overall it was incredibly easy to find exactly what I was looking for, and a compare things that I was considering.
Their website is ultimately what made the difference between me choosing to shop at the two stores here in Dallas, or drive an hour to pick up yarn at West 7th wool in fort Worth.
The curbside pickup experience was seamless, and my yarn was nicely packaged and ready to go. Because of covid I didn't go into the shop (I think the showroom is closed anyway) but I could tell that it was very nicely organized.
Two thumbs up. Great job adapting to the pandemic! And thanks for the awesome yarn.
Coronavirus, not fun, but perfect time to knit. I needed "blue" DK weight yarn. I felt so bad for them, because I know I was putting all the pressure on them. But literally gave me what I needed and brought my purchase to my truck. If I needed to see the yarn, I could have made an appointment. And, when I had a Chiaogoo question it was completely answered with no pressure to buy. When you do go in, yarn is organized by weight/size, then color. Easy to go straight for what you need. And, they have yarns dyed locally. They've always been great to me at this store 🥰
I wanted to take advantage of our extra time at home during COVID, attempting to learn crochet. I reached out to West 7th Wool to see if they would help me learn. Amy was so gracious and willing to try Zoom meetings! We did a couple lessons with a pattern I was trying to complete. Without Amy’s help I would be lost. So grateful, she was a tremendous help! I finally completed my project thanks to her 🥰
Thank you so much!
I am visiting my sister from out of town, we went to this store and I just loved it! The employees are just very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful! I really hope my sister goes back for the beginners class! Just loved the wool selection and came wait to finish the hat I started with the new yarn from yesterday!
