Authentic Kung-Fu

I would like to thank Sifu Steve Cottrell, Steve Richmond, and the Authentic Kung-Fu family for sharing their Wing Chun. Special thanks to senior students and good friends who started teaching me as much as Sifu taught them.

Since 02/22, I’ve been taking Taichi Chaun as a martial art from Sifu Steve Cottrell and his advanced students whose teaching he supervises.

If you want to see what “authentic” in his school’s name really means, visit a TaiChi class or a class for adults in Wing Chun or Praying Mantis Kung Fu or a class for children in Mantis and note the spectrum from beginning-to-advanced students (men and women), some who have been his students for decades. I can’t say what you would “get” from other martial arts instructors (though at greater financial cost) in our area; but, with Sifu Cottrell, you will recoup much more than your money’s worth as a member of his “martial arts family”.

He comes by his expertise from more than 50 years of practicing what he preaches, training with masters, fighting and having gold from China to prove it. Parenthetically, you need to know who’s writing this: I’m 83 years old; and my wife is 80, has a touch of Parkinson’s, and also is signed-up for Tai Chi. I have nidan rank in Judo and have taught it at the collegiate level.

I came here to get information about Wing Chun lessons. I was met by Sifu Steve. He informed me that I need to check out the different styles before making an informed choice. I chose Wing Chun over Praying Mantis as it resonated with me more. My point is this school is of integrity, they are knowledgeable and welcoming. Five stars all the way
