Great staff and facility. They truly helped me with my shoulder pain.
I cannot recommend Spero enough! The PTs here have truly changed my life.
Was a patient from a broken neck and back during peak Covid time and things could not have been better! Cole was a fantastic PT who was prepared and resourceful in his work and catered the rehab for what worked for me. In short after 4 months in a full cervical brace I'm 100% recovered. Strongly Recommend Cole and this business!
I worked with Valerie for almost 3 months, twice per week, to resolve issues with my knee. I went from having pain doing normal things around the house (going up the stairs and kneeling down) to being able to work out with no pain! We started each session with a brief recap of how things have been, if I’d been having any particular issues, and then warmed up. I would spend the next 50 minutes doing specific exercises Valerie put together to address previous concerns along with repeating key strengthening movements. I would be tired and sweating by the end of it, so definitely a workout! She also gave me easy things I could do at home on my own. Valerie was great at listening to my concerns, what I wanted, and just my overall venting - ha! A few times I wasn’t able to meet with Valerie, so saw John and Arielle, and they were awesome, too. Everyone not only seemed very knowledgeable in what they were doing, but they enjoyed their job. I was actually sad when I was discharged because I liked going! In the end, I highly recommend Spero.
In Feb 2018, I awakened in pain, and it continued to get worse. After several visits to my primary care doctor and an MRI, I was diagnosed with bulging discs in my lumber spine, and a hip labral tear. Just for fun, my body also threw in a bought of hip bursitis during this time. My doctor provided several options of treatment: physical therapy and NSAIDs, and/or pain therapy, or surgery. I placed my bets and energy on physical therapy, and I am happy that I did!
Initially I began working with one then a second clinic PT clinic, and they were fine. But, I knew I needed just the right physical therapist – who is knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate. I am fortunate to have been provided a stellar referral to go see Matt Elizondo, at Spero Rehab Austin. I saw on the website that he has lots of credentials and acronyms after his name, and specialized in orthopedic and sports PT, so with crossed fingers I quickly made an appointment and started my sessions with Matt in April 2018.
I arrived at the clinic with intense pain in my groin and hip that was preventing me from doing the things I enjoyed: flying around the country leading leadership training with drums, walking, working out, and more. The front desk is efficient, very kind and patient, and easy to work with.
From my first visit until now, July 2018, Matt and his staff progressed me from my pain state to a fully functional, and basically pain free-state. He did that by providing:
-a knowledgeable and thorough assessment
-continuous & understandable patient education
-excellent advanced soft tissue & manipulations skills (that didn’t send me running away in pain!)
-specific & now functional therapeutic exercises to continue the healing process and get me back to my full life and activities.
Now, I am back to drumming, walking, traveling, and working out without hesitation. Matt and I will continue our work together, with fewer visits, to continue the healing process while looking at prevention, and long term strengthening and conditioning.
Thank you Matt, for taking your time with my fired up mind and nervous system, my incessant questions, my intolerance of any pain, and my general fussiness. Your patience and expertise has been the primary aspect of my recovery! I hope others are lucky enough to find you and your team at Spero Rehab Austin.
Sincerely,
Deb P.
