  Kari made me feel welcomed and was very sweet. She asked questions to make sure she had an understanding of what my ideas for the tattoo I'm wanting.

  Onyx Tattoo is one of a kind! I will never go anywhere else in Austin- truly amazing first experience. I went in for a few tattoos and came out with stunning work! Shout out to Carlos...he worked with me to get exactly what I wanted and exceed expectations. He guided me with an image and had the patience of a god. Made me feel very comfortable and his "table side manner" was amazing! Will absolutely go back for more work, I am so impressed! I had a range of very detailed, medium/large scale work to minimalistic line drawings done. If you are looking for a clean, classy, and professional environment where you will get beautiful art work done, this is the place. Both artists that were there, were such a joy and made the entire process so enjoyable- I truly cannot say enough about this place. Absolutely will be recommending to all my friends to come here. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

  I came to Onyx because my dedicated artist moved to that studio. I was excited that the studio was in South Austin and I really enjoyed my time there; it was bright and clean, but the decor made it feel inviting. They had complementary cold drinks, coffee, a candy dish, and great plush lounge furniture for when you need a break during your session, and sparkling clean bathroom with modern fixtures. The artists there are really nice, supportive, and respectful. I had several other artists approach us and ask if they could see what we were doing and wanted to watch the progress. While I was there, another customer was getting a portrait piece done that was amazing. When the artist was done, the piece on the customer had more realistic shading and detail than the original paper he was using for reference. I'm so glad that my artist moved to this studio, it's definitely the nicest tattoo studio I've been in out of the 6 studios I've been inside.

  Everyone at Onyx was really friendly. The owners and other tattoo artists were nice and really easy to talk to.
  Kari, my tattoo artist was AMAZING! She was really patient with me and really listened to what I wanted. When I showed up for my appointment i was so happy with what she came up with. It was better than I had envisioned. She was super sweet and would often ask if I was OK or If i needed anything.
  I cannot say enough good things about this shop or the artists. I would definitely go back and recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a tattoo! Thank you all for making this experience so great!

  another plus......John has pretty good taste in movies and music! :)
