Carmela's Pizzeria Cafe & Deli

We stumbled on this deliciousness, locate in a gas station strip mall. Once inside, the world outside disappeared as we settled into our Tuscan-y booth. The waiter, James, was great and the food was the best we could remember having anywhere! Then we found out the main chef wasn’t even there that night. I don’t know how the food could have been better. I had the salmon - covered in a green cream sauce and served over a bed of the yummiest, garlic-iest spinach, and not to forget the brócoli, which was also phenomenal, and the homemade mashed potatoes. Yum. My husband had the shrimp scampi, and one bite sent me into a dream state. This place was such a happy and delicious find! It would be worth another trip from Arkansas, just to eat there again!

Definitely recommend this place.... pizza was delicious, cheese, sauce, crust, everything... Definitely coming back if we are back in town. We went to two different places elsewhere in Texas and this kind of a hole in the wall place was better than both of them! They were also able to customize an order for our 9 year old easily.

We went to Carmelas on Tuesday night. Several friends had said their food was very good and it did not disappoint! We started with the complementary focaccia bread and herb infused olive oil, but we made sure not to fill up because the menu offerings sounded great. We were sharing a dish and couldn’t decide, so we settled on the Italian Trio, consisting of cheese ravioli, lasagna, and chicken Parmesan. There was plenty of food for both of us and each dish was excellent. The marinara sauce was superb and plentiful. (I hate it when a restaurant skimps on the marinara.) Service was friendly and prompt. The prices were surprisingly low for what we received. We added a bottle of Rocca del Macie Chianti Classico for a perfect dinner.
