Ordered a left handed cowboy holster for my vaquero 44-40. Absolutely perfect. Ok it took a little while but it is hand crafted so I’d rather wait than get it wrong. The rounds fit the belt perfectly and the pistol fits the holster like a glove. Very nice!!! Worth the money and the wait.

Absolutely outstanding craftsmanship!! Couldn’t be more pleased. Ordered a holster and gun belt for my Ruger Blackhawk, and it has exceeded my expectations. Their work is well worth the wait, you will not be dissatisfied with their products!

I purchased my Kirkpatrick Leather Co. rig, consisting of; OWB Undercover (2010) holster, double magazine pouch (D62) and a 1-1/2” fully lined gunbelt (B55), for my third generation, Smith & Wesson 4006, in the summer of 2018. My weapon, an all stainless steel semiautomatic with a four inch barrel, chambered in .40S&W is heavy and I needed significant gunleather to carry it properly.

When looking for gunleather, there are a couple of priorities I look to address. First is comfort. If the gear is not comfortable, I won't wear it and that defeats the purpose. My firearm can only save lives if it is on my hip when danger presents itself. What I've heard called “program compliance". My Kirkpatrick Leather Co. rig is so comfortable I wear it nearly every day as my EDC firearm choice. The rig distributes the weight so well, it seems to all but disappear.

My next priority is security of the weapon. The depth of the holster pocket that the weapon sits into, in my Undercover model 2010, and the quality craftsmanship that goes into the molding of the holster, allows the firearm to be held securely without the need of a tensioning screw. In my opinion, these are the top priorities but my Kirkpatrick gunleather also looks great and does a wonderful job protecting the finish of my firearm.

The double magazine pouch I selected (D62), holds onto my spare magazines like the handshake of a dear friend. Additionally, the 1-1/2” fully lined gunbelt I chose for my rig, was customized by the craftsmen at Kirkpatrick, by stamping my family motto, in Latin, into the back. It's this kind of personalization that is very hard to come by, without incurring a heavy financial penalty. The good people at Kirkpatrick Leather Co. provided this six word moto (spelled correctly) at a very modest expense, that I was thrilled with.

Lastly, expense must be considered. I have no doubt that you will be as pleased as I was at the pricing of the products at Kirkpatrick. You can easily spend, what I spent on my entire quality leather rig, on a holster alone, and perhaps not equal the Kirkpatrick quality.

I fully expect to get many more years of valuable service from my Kirkpatrick Leather Co. gear. I have used it daily for over a year and, you can see from the photos that, it looks nearly as good as the day I received it. Now that’s what I call durability. Add all of these things up, and that is how I determine quality. I think it would be well worth your time to check out Kirkpatrick Leather Co. the next time you are in the market for quality gunleather.

Before this weekend I never owned a piece of Kirkpatrick leather. Not because I didn't want it, but because I never made myself let go an do it. Now I own one of their cowboy action rigs and am waiting for a casual wear belt and carry holster to follow. The rig I have now is Exquisite, plain compared to some others they have, but exquisite none the less; it's the one I chose and is beautiful as well as functional. I had the privilege of meeting the Kirkpatrick family and staff, and perhaps the largest factor of their success is that it is a FAMILY business; a generations old business that is worked by a group of people that may not all share the same name, but share the same heart and heritage. There is probably 200 years of combined experience in that building, or more, and it blends together to painstakingly produce quality products. Sometimes you have to pay for quality, but it's more than worth it when you want something better than "good enough". Kirkpatrick is far better than good, they're great, and I would send anyone their way who wants a gun holster, rifle sling, dress belt, or anything else you can use for years and pass on to your children.
