We moved to the area because of the schools and are very happy with the HES experience. Love that it is smaller than other schools in the area and that the teachers and staff know our children by name - even if they aren’t in their class.
I had attended this school from the year of 2012 to 2014 and during the time I was in the 3rd and 4th grade. From then, I've still heard good things about this school and must say that this school truly was an enjoyable place to be!
Great school, good teachers
As a used to be student of this school, I say it's very nice. The staff is nice with a couple of acceptions and it is clean for the most part. The cafeteria food obviously isn't good, but I don't blame the school for that. I've went to this school sence I was in kindergarten and all of my teachers were nice except for 1 ( I will not mention names for the sake of that persons reputation) the one thing I would say needs room for improvement is the way they handle bullying. Ever sence 2nd I've been bullied and I've delt with the guidance counselor many times and she did help some, this help was not permanent and the discipline should have been different, unlike the middle school, who has done better in that department.
Over all, this school is very nice, it is my childhood and I love it. I am not the first one in my family who went to this school because my grandma also went to it when she was my age, so as you can see this school has been here for generations and is doing its job quite well. All that being said, best of wishes to the staff at hickory elementary and thanks for teaching me, i miss you guys.
