    Captain Bill,
Thank you for a memorable experience that made my sister's birthday extra special. She lives in Michigan and was the first time on a sail boat. I plan on doing another trip with my boys. This is a fantastic opportunity and I can't wait for the next trip. Thank you Captain Bill for everything and my sister said it was her highlight of visiting Virginia.

I decided I wanted to go sailing for my birthday. Completed a Google search, And discovered Cap'n Bill O'Donovan.
The online reservation system was user- friendly. The Marina was fairly easy to find with the GPS. I gave Cap'n Bill a call because I was running about 15 minutes behind schedule. He agreed to push the time back and he waited for me and my guest. He greeted my guests and I and also saved us a parking space, (cool beans). He introduced us to the other 2 passengers and we set sail. All my random questions were answered. I learned about the salt water & freshwater meeting and the transition being named brackish and/or estuary. I also learned that the James River is the longest river in the world that begins and ends in the same state. I also got an opportunity to assist with the sails and the spinnaker. Most exciting part, was sitting on the the bow of the boat. It was a really nice sailing experience. What an awesome birthday experience! I would highly recommend Cap'n Bill O'Donovan, here's why:
    Outstanding customer service.
    Great rapport
    Nice clean boat
    Free cold bottled drinking water
    Very Reasonable Prices
    Educational
    Fun
Aaand free emailed photos and a parting gift of a seafood dining coupon. It was a really good time I highly recommend.

Captain Bill provided us with an excellent sailing experience. We had a wonderful time. Me and my husband really enjoyed the teaching of how to steer the helm and the sailing of the boat. We were so relaxed. Great job Captain Bill we really enjoyed our Sunday adventure of sailing you done an excellent job and gave us a wonderful sailing experience.

Absolutely best time in a long time! You can’t go wrong with Capt Bill! His teaching style doesn’t feel like teaching at all. You are learning while gaining a friend…that’s what it feels like. Very personable! We went out in low winds but he didn’t give up on our reservation. He communicated with us and gave options. We had already taken the day off work and was super psyched to go out. So what could’ve been his excuse to have an afternoon off turned into an amazing time for us learning & doing while thoroughly enjoying ourselves! He was very knowledgeable on local sights, history, etc. He earned points for not getting tired of my questions….and I’m a question-asking type person. Can’t wait for our next trip…and there will be a next!

Captain Bill provides an unforgettable sailing experience aboard his pristine 32' Hunter sailboat "Deadline". Dedicated students will glean a wealth of knowledge from his hands-on teaching, while more relaxed cruisers will enjoy a smooth ride amongst sea breezes and delight in his wildlife and history talking points. Bill has a relaxed, confident manner that puts everyone in an easy frame of mind while he dispenses history, anecdotes, and advice in equal measure. He thoughtfully captures quality photos of your adventure while pointing out local landmarks and ensuring optimum comfort for all aboard. A distinctive experience makes a great gift to yourself or others -- guaranteed to be written about to home on post cards!
