(November 12, 2018, 9:00 am)This B&B sets the bar high for others to try and follow. Upon entering and traveling down the tree lined drive way you come face to face with history. This birth place of James Madison is inspiring and comforting all in one. Michelle and Brett are simply amazing, taking you into history and making you feel right at home. Not only can you spend hours touring and reading about this fantastic location. But you can enjoy tea, breakfast and an amazing dinner. Located along the Rappahannock river makes it a perfect venue for relaxation and weddings. This is a must visit location and encourage all to spend some time with Michelle and Brett, you will not regret it. We will be back soon and often.

(November 5, 2018, 5:38 pm)Awesome experience! My family went for tea and a house tour and loved every bit. The tea and food was delicious and the tour was fascinating. The staff was very helpful and you can tell they love what they're doing. Highly recommend it if you get the chance!

I enjoyed afternoon tea with two friends on the portico. I was astonished by the private table and amazing view of the Rappahannock River. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional.
After tea we had an amazing tour of the house. Because it’s a B&B, and not a museum, we were allowed to visit all of the commons areas and unoccupied rooms. Photography was encouraged and we felt very relaxed on the tour.
My friends and I all discussed coming back to spend the night. It’s such an inviting home.
Dress for tea is whatever your group decides. Because we ate outside, I dressed less formally because of the heat. Some ladies who enjoyed tea inside, were more formally dressed. For special teas, I’m sure there is recommended attire.
They have special events on their website. Next weekend is tea with Elvis and it’s booked solid.

(June 25, 2018, 7:29 am)Belle Grove tea room is set in a beautiful historic location. It is the birthplace of the fourth President of the United States, James Madison. Because it is a private residence, the hosts are able to offer things such as ghost tours, Tea with Elvis, and it can serve as a wedding venue or a location for a private party. The base price for tea was $35 per person. It included a choice of teas (blended in-house), and both savory and sweet options. There's enough food to serve as a meal. 9 of us we're seated around a large oval table. The gold napkins in elegant napkin rings along with delicate tea cups, saucers, and teapots made the whole experience feel very special. Due to the timing tea can only last an hour but that seemed like more than enough time. Most items were made in house with a great deal of care. The hostess is quite lovely and intuitive. Rest assured I will visit again.
