I started at VAA in 8th grade in 2016. Based on my experience I’d give this school a pretty good review. Here are the pros and cons of Virginia academy

    Pros:
1.Good teachers. The teachers at Virginia academy are very kind and helpful. I believe that for the most part they care strongly for your education. Our principal mr. feathers is awesome and he truly shows that he cares about our students
    2. Good environment. If you’re looking to escape a very crowed environment like public school, VAA is the place. At VAA classrooms are smaller so you have a better opportunity to participate in classes. You also get to know most people in the school since the upper school only has around 200 kids.
    3. Kind students. For the most part, students at VAA were kind and fun to be around. I got to meet some of my closest friends from VAA that I still talk to today.

    Now for the cons

    1. No AP classes. This school has no AP classes, instead they have online dual enrollment. For me it is harder to learn online. I think that having AP classes would make everything simpler rather than learning things online.

Those are my pros and cons. I hope you consider VAA if you think it is the school for you. It isn’t for everybody. However if you’re dealing with public school issues like big crowds and poor academics, VAA is for you. For everyone else that is succeeding in public school, I recommend staying there if you think it’s the right fit for you

For our family and 14yr old son, Va Academy has been a 1st class experience. The school does a fantastic job. The faculty is hard working and knowledgeable. Mr. Feathers, Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Graves, Mrs. Audette, Coach Posey and Coach Hagler - are some (but certainly not all) of the magnificent people we have met while at Va Academy. We consider ourselves fortunate to have these amazing people in our lives. The Va Academy curriculum is current, tailored, flexible and challenging. The facility is comfortable and enjoyed by the students. The student body is engaged, supportive and inclusive. And I should mention our son absolutely loves the food choices!:) The entire Va Academy culture is student centered and faith based - which is exactly what we were looking for. We could not be more satisfied with our experience at Va Academy. We are often asked about Va Academy and as a family, we gladly go out of our way to share our positive experience. Va Academy is an amazing school.

We believe the early years in a child’s education are so important in their overall development and we found that at Virginia Academy ( VAA) Our experience with the Virginia Academy has been amazing. Our two children, son is a 1st grader and daughter in K4, have been enrolled since K2 each. We couldn't be more pleased with the education our children have received and the overall academic and Christian environment, strong focus on character development and social development our children have experienced. The teachers and administration staff are spectacular. We also really appreciate the open communication between teachers and parents. We absolutely recommend this school to any parent looking for high quality Christian educational environment for their children.
