(November 17, 2019, 5:08 pm)I probably would have given this place 5 stars but I got there to late for the guided tour. I did go to the Madison family cemetery. The large monument that marks his grave was placed there well after his and Dolly's death. A humble man, he wanted no marker on his grave. He felt that all the people important to him would know where he laid.

(May 25, 2019, 5:44 pm)Very informative. Lovely gift and memorabilia items. Wide selection ad well. Cafe food was quite delicious. Eat under umbrellas in the front or on wooden picnic tables under massive looming evergreen trees. The film was well made and informative. There was a small museum of Dolley items made after her death to commemorate whatever popularity she had.

(May 14, 2019, 5:41 pm)If you have to choose between here and Monticello, I’d have to say choose the latter. However, this was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. The tour guide was knowledgeable and kept things interesting. The grounds are lovely and there are plenty of trails and spaces to relax and go for a walk.
