Our daughter started school here in 7th grade and is now in college after being very well prepared. Our family loves this school! The teaching staff is dedicated to the children. Daily mass and rosary provide nice breaks in the day for the children to refresh and refocus on the rigorous curriculum. The school demands the best of children and their parents. We thought it was important for our daughter to understand how our government came to be and how it works. Adding a home school course her last year of high school took care of that for us.
My children who attend Holy Family Academy told me that there was a RUDE man who used to clean the school in exchange for free tuition for his children. Needless to say, one of my children was yelled at by the man for attempting to use the bathroom when he was getting ready to close it (not closed yet) for cleaning. I planned to report the incident to the headmaster but decided not to and gave the man the benefit of the doubt. If in fact he's that rude, he will be exposed eventually.
Sure enough, several weeks ago, my children told me that the man was fired by the headmaster for not doing the job that he was hired to do and for being rude to everyone. Kudos to the headmaster for standing up to the bully, which was my only concern about Holy Family Academy at the time.
We've heard nothing but good reviews about Holy Family Academy. I believe the review submitted by Mr. Martinez is referring to the cleaning bully. I have good news for you, sir. The bully is gone. HE WAS FIRED FEW WEEKS AGO!
We love this school! My children all started in Kindergarten and #3 will graduate high school this year. The curriculum is rigorous and challenging. It produces students that are capable of critical thought. More importantly, the school puts Christ at the center of each day by gathering for daily Mass and rosary.
Two of our children have graduated from the school and are at top Virginia Universities. Two have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Foundation. Obviously the education they have received has been exemplary! The family-friendly atmosphere at the school is tremendous. Older students happily help younger students; parents volunteer in many capacities and the community is very welcoming and always willing to help (carpools to events, meals for those who have a newborn or other need and even holding bake sales for pregnancy crisis centers and others in need.) Daily Mass and Rosary and a spirit of helping parents educate their children is the priority. There are no fancy computer labs or IPads used by the students. What they offer and provide a top-notch education with are old-fashioned values and Classical Curriculum in a loving Catholic environment. Highly recommended!
