My mother was a resident for nearly 7 years and we were very happy with the loving care that Darren and his staff provided. Darren is a very caring individual and was able to handle any of the medical emergencies that my mother had. It’s a much nicer place to be then a rehab facility, with a lot of personal attention!

After several months of extreme ups and downs from other facilities we finally found a place in which my husband felt he could call his new home knowing his care was far to much for me to do at our home. He was a trache/vent patient with complications. When we were finally informed about Canyon Creek Family Home being an option my husband and I were coming to terms with him having only short-time left. Darren agreed to take him as a patient. My husband loved his room and the staff. He could see the trees and animals and had home cooked food even though it was liquified and the staff never rushed him. As I lived and worked 3 hours away Darren and his staff always called if anything changed, went to appointments with him, and let me know if any medical care was changed. The last ambulance ride to hospital turned into the most devastating stay and when hospice refused to take him on as a patient because he couldn't be off the vent for 24 hours Darren told me he would take him back and care for him. My husband told me he wanted to go back to Canyon Creek his home. I always had a place to sleep if needed instead of sleeping in chair in his room. I had to return to work but would get updates at least twice a day. My husband was very much at peace about what was happening and that was very much due to Darren and his staff. Darren helped me do what I needed to do after he passed until I could get back. For my husband to be at peace is the greatest gift that Darren and his staff gave to us.

I feel very fortunate to have found Canyon Creek AFS for my husband. It became a second home to both of us.
He received excellent care day and night and the staff was trained to handle any situation. John lived both on a ventilator and a permenant tracheostomy, both needing around the clock care. The caregivers always had a smile for him and treated him with respect regardless of his attitude that day. With both a vent and a trach cleanliess is mandetory. Which was a priority for Canyon Creek as well.
Another plus was when time permitted the caregivers would pop in just to visit which made John feel like a friend not just another patient.
Besides the CNN's that handled his daily needs Darren (Owner/RN) was available for questions and would stop in to visit. He was an active part in the daily operation not just a figurehead.
In addition I was able to come and go anytime day or night and bring our small dogs which was importent to both of us. We both became part of an extended family during his time there.
Bottom line: They Cared! I would highly recommend.

I would like Everyone to understand how much I love this place, the owner and the nurse. My father had ALS and lived there just under two years. The place took excellent care of my pops, absolutely clean establishment, kind and caring people. And I can’t say enough about the owner Darren. I honestly didnt see one flaw the whole time we were there and I came and went day and night. If you are looking for a safe and caring and clean place for your loved ones this is the place if I could I would give it 10 stars, thank you guys for loving and taking care of my pops
