Cultus Bay Gardens

While the nursery is now permanently closed, Cultus Bay Gardens is now an education center offering classes and several special events. Let’s hope their next chapter is as amazing as what they created when the nursery was the main business activity. Mary Fisher is such a wealth of information and I have seen several of her Garden Talks.

Beautiful nursery in a garden-like setting, plus friendly people and good prices! Off the beaten track but worth the drive.

Cultus Bay Nursery is not your average garden center. The nursery looks like a botanical garden with plantings everywhere that show how the plants you buy will look. Mary and Linda are positively a wealth of knowledge about plants, trees, and gardening. Their laid back attitude allows customers to wander and enjoy the grounds until they are ready to look for something specific. It is a relaxed, enjoyable experience. The plants and trees are not your regular stuff. They carry plants that you don't often see and they take very good care of their plants while they are in the nursery, so you don't have to worry about buying half dead stuff. They can also plan your landscape as well, if you so desire. Very talented and easy to deal with. My favorite place in the whole wide world. It's a must see when you come to Whidbey, even if you think you're not interested in plants, this place is iconic, go anyway! You won't regret the visit.
