We can't say "MEAD" at our house. We have to say "Dr. M" because they get so excited when they hear that we are going to Dr. Mead!

I have two patients receiving care from her right now. Jonesy has IVDD in his neck and is quite stable with her treatments. (hoping to avoid surgery to fuse the vertebrae) He also has a congenital deformity in his tail and hip that she is working wonders on for him as he gets older.

Petey is a dachshund mix that had knee surgery and also has typical long-dig back issues. He is afraid of everything and everyone so Dr. Mead gives him the time he needs to calm down and once he is receiving his treatment, he loves it.

So grateful for her expertise and wonderful care.

I have am amazing story to tell. Dr. Mead is a true example of compassion and love for her work. My dog is not yet a patient of hers, technically. Her schedule is booked pretty far out, as all veterinary service are lately. I have a 13 year old chihuahua. Normally, a sassy, nasty little blonde creature with the most stubborn, contrary personality I’ve ever experienced in a dog. But, I love him dearly and am not yet ready to let him go. I’m not sure what’s wrong with him yet but for the last several days, he’s been suffering with severe pain in what I think is his neck. He will be sleeping peacefully and then suddenly jump up and scream and thrash about, clearly in agonizing pain. The episodes are brief, but frequent. The emergency hospital gave him some meds and advised me to seek the assistance of Dr. Mead. When I called to schedule, Dr. Mead would not just offer the first available appointment and go on with her evening. No, instead she spent a LOT of time on the phone with me, discussing his symptoms, his history, his medication regimen and offering some home remedies to try until she could begin his treatments. And then she checked up on him after that conversation. That evening, I was prepared to have to put him down. That decision is never easy. If I wait, am I making him suffer because I am too selfish to let him go? If I let him go, did I do enough before I gave up? Dr. Mead wasn’t ready to give up on this dog that she’s never met. I’ve not yet met this Angel of Pets but my gratitude for Dr. Mead is deep. Her recommendations helped me get his pain stabilized and now, we just need to wait for his MRI for a diagnosis and begin his treatment. With a little love, her time and some hope, she literally saved my dog with a phone call. I can’t thank her enough. Words are completely inadequate. But they are all I have. Thank you, Dr. Mead, for being an amazing human.

UPDATE: It seems only fair that I also review Dr. Mead’s veterinary skills, now that we’ve experienced them. She continued to be compassionate and gentle and oh, so patient with my contrary little chihuahua and her treatments, along with the home regimen she prescribed, worked wonders. Little Frodo passed last week (peacefully due to old age) but he did not have any further neck issues for the rest of his life. I admit that I was a little skeptical, scheduling acupuncture and physical therapy for my old dog but I was desperate and I’m so glad I did. If you’re on the fence over the validity of these treatments or trying to balance the cost, I urge you to try her treatment plan out. It wasn’t extraordinarily expensive - especially not when compared to what most specialists charge! In fact, one visit with her was less than a routine visit with my regular vet. Totally worth it. Her care gave Frodo a pain-free life and I am forever grateful for Dr. Mead for that.

Dr. Mead is awesome. After my senior Doberman broke both feet consecutively, and was in casts and on rest restriction for four months, I was worried he would never return to his usual activities. His recovery after the casts came off was plagued with all sorts of minor to moderate issues and injuries. However, thanks to Dr. Mead’s knowledge and creativity, we came up with an effective rehabilitation and maintenance plan for Ruger that has allowed him to return to his pre-injury activities. He is still actively competing—and winning— in sport competitions well into his 10th year. Dr. Mead’s care and guidance have made a huge impact on the quality of life of my very mentally and physically active dog. She listened to what my goals and concerns were and treated my dog as the individual he is. Her caring and thoughtful “bedside” manner is a credit to her and certainly a reason she was able to get Ruger back to superstar status. Can’t thank you enough Dr. Mead!

**2022 UPDATE** Still seeing Dr. Mead. She's still awesome. Ruger broke his toe a third time at the end of 2021 but he's back in action and still competing, in good part because Dr. Mead keeps him in peak physical form. Unlike the regular vet, he loves his visits with Dr. Mead, which is an added perk.

My dog's joint problems are so much better after just a few visits to Dr. Mead. She is caring, very compassionate (to my dog and to me) and extremely knowledgeable. She is working with my fur baby's regular vet to plan his physical therapy. It's affordable and really works. Don't hesitate to call her.

I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mead and the therapy that she performs. My German shepherd has been diagnosed with bi-lateral hip dysplasia for nearly three years now. We were told that if we cannot keep her comfortable, I would have to pursue surgery to get a total hip replacement done on both hips. Luckily, my dog has been seeing Dr. Mead to keep her pain manageable. Dr. Mead is able to adjust and adapt to the preference and needs of the pet. My dog does not tolerate acupuncture but stands well for laser therapy. The first time she came home after receiving a laser treatment, she was like a different dog-running up and down the stairs and annoying her brother. We can't wait to try out the new underwater treadmill too, hopefully to address some muscle wastage! Dr. Mead and I work together to build a plan that works best for me and my dog and I am forever grateful for her keeping my baby at her best!
