Amazing flight school. Super well-maintained planes very knowledgeable instructors. I can definitely vouch for several, Justin Houtz is my current Instructor and I can’t recommend a better Instructor I have studied at three different flight schools and rain. Here is where I will finish my flight training.

Great addition to the Rainier Flight Service network! I'm flying regularly out of their Renton location and was absolutely stunned by how large, bright, and clean the new location here in Tacoma Narrows is. Add professional service, a set of great flight instructors, well maintained planes, and the fact that I got freshly baked chocolate chip cookies offered by the team while looking outside at the runway and the mountains from the briefing room. I will be back!

I have been flying with Rainier Flight Services for the past 3 years now. I have my private pilot’s license and have continued flying with Rainier instructors when I can to stay proficient. I thought I would phase that portion of my proficiency out after getting my license however I find myself learning or experiencing something completely new with each instructed flight. Over the last 3 years I have flown with 10 different instructors and they have all been great however Tim Nelson who recently moved from Rainier’s Renton location to their Tacoma Narrows’ location is one of the main reasons I have transitioned over there as well. He’s a wealth of knowledge, humble and kind. He’s made me a better pilot and I could not be more grateful to have him on the Rainier team.

I have found Rainer flights services to have some of the best flights instructors. My primary flight instructor Tim Nelson, has provided me with unbelievable support in turn allows for greater self confidence as developing Pilot. What I really appreciate about his teaching style; he allows his students to get a real feel of the airplane in addition to his ability to inspired you and provide you with the right amount of push during ground studies bringing out your best which leads to success. I highly recommend Rainier flights Services and the flight instruction they provide to both the young and mature aircraft Enthusiast.

I worked overtime shifts for years to save the money to make a career transition to aviation. I did a lot of research and spoke with many schools in the area to find the best fit. I finally began my flight training at RFS Tacoma Narrows this April with Tim Nelson.

As a cost-conscious student, I was nervous to embark on the journey, but Tim assuaged my fears. He is an incredibly competent pilot and a true role model for aspiring aviators. Tim’s open communication style allowed me to get the most out of my training by tailoring our lessons to my individual learning style. He provided firm, yet gentle, guidance while I perfected my initially abysmal landings. Being new to the world of aviation, his advice about medical certificates, financing, and career prospects has been invaluable.

Additionally, the school itself has exceeded my expectations in every way. I am impressed by their professional office management, structured curriculum, and respected relationships with regional airlines. The aircraft are impeccably maintained, clean, safe, and ready to fly. I highly recommend training at Rainier Flight Service, especially with Tim Nelson.
