Sherri has helped my husband who has Parkinson's with swallowing and speech issues. Not being able to communicate is frustrating, but with strategies Sherri helped with Lee can do better. I appreciate the humor and empathy Sherri shows her clients. We looked forward to her visits.
Sherri helped us manage my husband's transition "from feeding tube to real food" after his critical illness and two month hospitalization. Sherri went above and beyond by calling me before our first meeting to get to know more about our situation. She read all my husband's medical notes and was very well prepared when she met my husband for the first time. Sherri brought tremendous positive energy to her visits with us. She encouraged us and dispensed wise advice. Sheri's years of experience provided an impressive breadth of knowledge and made us very comfortable that she would guide us to a positive outcome. Sherri followed up with emails between visits and was always available for my questions. It was a pleasure to work with Sherri and a relief to have her as a resource during a difficult time."
Sherri Drummond coming into our lives was absolutley instrumental in my husband's speech recovery. Not only did she provide current and best practices in speech recovery, her knowledge of his specific and multiple disabilites were vast. Her personal connections with others, top in their field, allowed for years of extended and specialzed therapy for my husband. She connected us with programs, universities, scholarships and best of all, friends! She teaches with knowledge, grace and passion. We were blessed by working with her, we are blessed by still knowing her!
I live in another city from my mother, who is a patient of Speech Therapy Seattle. Before Ms. Drummond helped my mother, phone conversations were almost impossible. With Ms. Drummond's help, I can maintain communication with my mother. I am very grateful.
I have a close relative who had a stroke and developed aphasia. Prior to moving to Seattle, she had a highly considered speech therapist in another state who worked hard with her on enunciation and word recall. But Ms Drummond's approach has been much better in enabling the relative to communicate. She encouraged the use of multiple tools to learn to communicate and it has improved our communication tremendously. My review will necessarily fall short of expressing just how helpful she has been--suffice it to say that we are thrilled with the work she has done and is continuing to do.
