I lived for many years as an adult without knowing how to swim, thinking that I'd get around to it eventually. When "eventually" arrived I found myself being disappointed in the adult swim programs I was finding as they seemed rather short and perfunctory. When I ran across Orca Swim School and read about their Miracle Swimming process a lot of that resonated with me, even though I wouldn't have described my apprehension and discomfort with deep water as a "fear" at the time (looking back on it, I would describe it that way now).

After I had worked up the courage I took the beginning class here 2 years ago. The class proceeded at a very measured pace and was always focused on feeling comfortable and safe in the water, even so every single session added something significant or led to a breakthrough, not just for me but for my classmates as well.

What I ended up getting out of the class was a bit different from what I expected, but so much more. It fundamentally transformed my relationship with water. Last year I started learning how to sail, something that had been a dream my whole life. This year I discovered a desire for kayaking, something that wasn't even on my mind previously because it was behind a wall of fear for so long. Now I'm looking forward to snorkeling, surfing, and possibly SCUBA in the near future. This class has changed my life so much, opening up so many opportunities for adventure, fitness, enjoyment, and personal growth. Over the past two years I've probably spent more time in the water than I had in my entire life previously. I only wish I had done it sooner.

Love the length and quality of lessons. 45 minutes long with different class size options. The pool is heated, which is great for the kids. Before the age of 2, my daughter had developed an insane fear of water unless she was just washing her hands. At her two year checkup, her doctor recommended swim lessons to help her fears. Orca swim school was willing to work with her one on one, and now thanks to Jasmine she absolutely loves the water. Other instructors I have seen working with other kids are also great.
