Chris is an incredibly kind and knowledgeable instructor. As someone who has joined the beginner classes, this is a great way to exercise and a great community. There is no judgement, even if you're completely clueless like me. The other (now advanced) students are welcoming and great at offering encouragement and gentle correction. I've really enjoyed my time in classes and will definitely keep attending.

Imagine you just finished watching the lord of the rings, or playing the Witcher 3. You see Aragorn or Geralt getting into sword fights, and showing off their awesome skills. Now imagine you are Geralt or Aragorn or any other of your favorite swordsman. But now you have the sword in your hand, and instead of fighting enemies who want to kill you, you’re fighting with buddies who you can laugh with afterward. Imagine getting to learn history, and then apply it by obtaining new skills and dueling like the swordsman of old.

If this sounds absolutely awesome to you then check this place out. Everyone here is very accepting and friendly. We all share a love for learning as well as enjoying the fun of the physical aspect. It’s led by Chris Vanslambrouk, and he’s one of the best guys I know. He manages to both come off as a teacher who knows his stuff and can teach you perfectly no matter what kind of student you are. But he also comes off as a friend. Someone you could watch a movie with or just hang out with even outside of lessons. He’s always accommodating to scheduling and other issues. He’s often willing to drive all around town just to give lessons to his students. Through quarantine he was willing to abide by safety rules, and to give private lessons both in person and virtually just so everyone wouldn’t need to stop doing what they enjoy. Safety is always a high point in what we do ensuring everyone has the right equipment, and learns how to be safe when fencing. You will also learn the history behind fencing and Joachim Meyer. You will even learn important life lessons such as patience, and how to attack and defend which can help in debate or even in business. It will teach you great study habits for school, and it will teach you how to remain healthy both physically and mentally.
