Schlitz Audubon Nature Center

Been coming here with my old man ever since I learned how to talk :)
They have a wonderfully maintained facility which is always clean and quiet, and a very charming staff always willing to answer questions. There's a lovely little gift shop in the main building that sells local art.
New boardwalk around the Mystery Pond is very nice considering is wasn't very accessible before.
Resident snapping turtle has been given a custom upgraded enclosure which I very much appreciate, being a reptile lover. It shows that they care a lot about their animals and their well-being.
Overall one of my favorite places to visit!

We couldn't have asked to have our wedding at a more beautiful venue. All of our guests were raving about how gorgeous the outdoor setting and the event space was. Jessica and Bridget were wonderful to work with and made the whole process seamless. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! We had our wedding in October, so the changing leaves and gorgeous outdoor photo spots made for beautiful wedding photos that I will cherish forever.

What an incredible experience for everybody! So much the see, touch and learn! We only spent part of the afternoon together with the volunteers and animals inside. But the property has so much more to explore if you are dressed appropriately for a winter hike. We will definitely make time to come back again soon.

Despite it being winter time, it was beautiful out! They had plowed the paths making it easy to walk through. The lady at the counter at the visitors center was very nice and informative. The visitor center itself has a nice gift shop and plenty of educational materials. Very kid friendly. This is just a really beautiful place to be and get a way for the day. My fiance and I went together and we even came across a few owls hooting to each other in the area that we were at. There are so many different areas and trails to walk it almost seems endless.

Thank heavens for the great programs at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. Blessed with a wonderful property along Lake Michigan, hikes along the trails are rewarding as exercise and all the wonderful sights. The raptor demonstrations and education are exceptional and inspiring. The Center is blessed with a wonderful collection of birds that promote education about these fascinating creatures.
