  My mom recently passed at this hospice, the staff was very kind and understanding. They checked in every hour on the hour without us having to call them. When we did press the call light between visits they were very prompt. The atmosphere is calming and pleasant. We have big family and had many people going in and out and they were very accommodating. Several of the family members asked several questions and the staff always took time to answer them. After she passed they handled all the details, calls and transportation so we had time to grieve. The Chaplin they called associated with the facility was amazing. In the grief I forgot his name, tall guy very personable. This facility is only 10 beds so it feels like a home more so than a hospital. My family was very hands on when it came to caring for my mother and we were very pleased with the compassion and care at Ruth Hospice.

  The entire Vitas staff has been caring, compassionate and professional. I would highly recommend Vitas.

  We can not thank the staff at Ruth Hospice enough. They were caring and compassionate. They treated us and our father with the utmost respect at a very difficult time in our lives. I would recommend them to anyone in need of great care care at end of life.

  My father spent the last few days of his life in this facility. It was small and peaceful and quiet. It didn't feel like the nursing home he had been in, which felt kinda depressing. I think there are only 8-10 beds here and half were open when he was there. Very personalized care.
  He was with another hospice, and we switched to Vitas to get him into this facility so that my mom could visit. They were caring and efficient and moved him the same day we signed up - from his home to the facility. Each room was large and comfortable for family to hang out. I don't think any of the patients ever leave there rooms here - they are all in a place where that's no longer possible.
  
  BTW, we brought him home from a nursing home and thought we could take care of him with help from hospice. But in a couple days we were overwhelmed because he was going down hill so quickly. So getting him back to a facility was a necessity for us - and this was a great place to go.
  
  And if you are thinking about bringing a loved one home to die, be sure to consider that it may be overwhelming and not the peaceful death that you imagine. If you can afford 24 hour care at home (and you're OK with having someone live in your house) then that might be different, but having just 2-3 family members helping out with occasional visits from hospice was not enough.
