I bought a Howell 45 ACP conversion cylinder for Uberti firearms. When the cylinder got to me I realized both my 1858 Remington replicate revolver and my Remington replicate cylinder rifle needed some modifications to the hands for the cylinder to cycle properly. I contacted Maggie at Howell and she explained what needed to be done very clearly. She also sent me documents with photographs and procedure explanations for both firearms. The hand can be modified on the revolver without disassembly using a file. The process was very easy. The revolver rifle hand needs to be taken out of the firearm to file it to the correct dimensions. I found several videos on YouTube that explained how to disassemble the rifle. It was not difficult. It did not take long to get the hand cycling just right. I blued the filed surfaces with super blue and they look real nice. Yesterday I took both firearms to the gun range to shoot them. The cylinders worked perfectly. I really like the safety positions in between the chambers which keep the firearms from going off accidentally if they are bumped or dropped. I also shot with the original cylinders. The modifications did not affect their function at all. My thanks to Howell for providing an excellent product and exceptional customer service.
I got this for my Uberti cartridge revolver and I was able to just swap the cylinder. I didn't even need to replace the ring that was already on it. The fluted cylinder looks fantastic and I love shooting with it. Very high quality and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested

Good Customer service. Got an adapter that would not work on my gun (M1 Garand). They took it back, milled it to fit, then returned it to me at no cost. If you have an issue don't jump the gun and write a negative review. Make sure you contact them first they will make it right.
I highly recommend Howell Arms conversion cylinders, the finish is beautiful and they fit and function prefect. Customer service is great, very friendly and helpful. Shipping is fast with a tracking number. I will be buying a couple more in the future.
