Adventure Rib Rides Whale Watching San Diego

What a ride! Kirk made sure of it! We saw at least four grey whale sightings, two of them swimming together and spouting as they swam...just beautiful. The music, speed and proximity to the ocean on the raft made it all the better and we can’t wait to go back in summer and see some blue and humpback whales! The office was great at rescheduling in advance due to rainy weather expected on our tour date and made sure everyone was suited up and comfortable well before we set out. Highly recommend!

This morning my husband surprised me with an early birthday present and booked a morning whale watching tour. He also invited my 80 year old mother along, and she had a blast! Adventure Rib Rides fully equipped all of us in warm suits and secure life vests. Then we met Kirk who was our captain for the tour, and he gave us the rundown on all the rules, safety, and security aspects of riding in a RIB. This was the second trip we’ve taken with this company and we have to say that they are the BEST! What a fun filled excursion we had, and saw 2 grey whales and two pods of playful dolphins. We highly recommend this company and their crew, you wont be disappointed! Thanks Kirk and Jordan for a wonderful day!

We absolutely had a blast with Captain Kirk (in the best Scottish accent). It was a last minute adventure for my husband and I in our last day in San Diego. What a way to end the week! Captain Kirk made it an awesome experience for us! He is knowledgeable and entertaining! We were able to see a pair of grey whales, until a stranger in another boat decided to spook them. We got super close to a bunch of dolphins that travelled right next to our boat. Got to see a couple of sea lions and several birds diving in for some food. The ride itself was a blast! When they say they are the fastest whale watching boat they mean it! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great adventure! Would definitely come back to do again!

I highly recommend this tour. You will see San Diego marine life up close and personalized. Our Captain who’s name was Kirk was awesome (work on your Scottish accent before the tour…). He was very knowledgeable about all the sites around San Diego Bay and all the marine life we saw on the ride. The boat was safe and steady and very fast! My kids loved the trip and could not stop talking about the pod of hundreds of dolphins we followed.

Whale watching? SD has options. Concerned about social distancing? Go here first! These are small, safe boats that are kid friendly. We had 4 & 6 yo with us and they LOVED seeing dolphins (30-40), blue whales, fin whales, all sorts of birds and sea lions that love to sun. A massive fin whale passed underneath our boat and it was exhilarating and simply majestic. Worth every penny. 3 hr tour, around 12 miles out. We brought a small cooler with snacks and drinks. Had a blast.
