Beautiful covered in snow.
If you're wandering around the Verdi area of Nv, this is a monument set in the 1860s establishing the Nv/California border. Amazing how accurate it was. Good read. Not worth going out of your way to find.
Nice presentation and preservation of historical survey marker. Gravel turn around and CDF trashcan.
This place is neat - not very secluded but historically interesting. You can go a little further west on this road and get stuck - not so much in the summer, but in the winter when Interstate 80 is closed GPS will send you this way - don't go this way.
This park is at the site of one of the few remaining iron survey monuments originally set by the historic 1872 Von Schmidt survey of the official California-Nevada boundary. The park was established in 2014, has good vehicle access, a picnic bench, and interpretive signs describing this historic location. In California, near the town of Verdi, Nevada. There are no "facilities" or "services" or drinking water within the park.
