(January 21, 2019, 6:40 pm)Tons of wildlife to be seen. The day we went, we saw tons of deer, a herd of probably 25 buffalo, and several bald eagles and golden eagles flying about and perching in trees. Outside of the refuge drive where the buffalo are, there are several pretty ponds for fishing and plenty of trails. Don't take your dog though, since it's a wildlife refuge, dogs (other than service dogs) are not allowed.

(January 16, 2019, 11:11 pm)Beautiful wildlife drive, right in the middle of the city. Over 300 Bison now roam freely here, plus lots of birds like eagles and many other ducks, hawks, deer and prairie dogs. A few hiking trails too!! The Wildlife Drive is an easy mostly one way scenic drive through 14 plus miles of nature. Most days I see the entire herd of Bison, right on the road or just alongside. The lakes and ponds are full of birds in Spring and Summer, and even a few winter residents. Very close to DIA, allow at least 90 minutes to enjoy the wildlife here!

(November 27, 2018, 2:25 pm)Had a wonderful drive with my family. The buffalo were too far away to see but they have a lot of room to just be. The weather was perfect in September. Can't wait to visit again!

(November 7, 2018, 1:33 am)This place was cool First off it's free so you cannot beat that! It was cool to drive through and see all the deer everywhere. I wish we could have been there where the buffalo were more active, but we enjoyed the trip. The most exciting thing was when what we believe to have been a coyote was running across the road. We all were happy to watch it as we were pulled over on the side of the road.
We would recommend visiting the refuge. Good stuff! -

(October 4, 2018, 1:15 pm)We took the driving tour around the park and saw a big herd of buffalo. We also saw several deer. It was especially interesting for someone from the Midwest. We would have liked a brochure giving more of the history of the park.
We did not have a chance to do much walking and it was hot and dry the day we visited, but I think a walk about would have been interesting. We enjoyed our visit. Also the visitor center was pretty good.
