Jamie York Academy

We found Jamie and JYA (Math, Sciences, and Humanities) when our daughter was entering grade 10 of homeschool and we were failing to meet her needs, particularly with math. She was very satisfied with the math main lessons and curriculum from the beginning and we were relieved her academic needs and hunger for learning were being satiated. She went on to take a science course as well as a couple of the humanities courses and they have been a foundational part of her high school experience. We are immensely grateful to have such a wonderful compliment to our self designed courses and trust Jamie and all of the teachers are not only helping prepare our daughter for college but for all of life. Your program is so well designed and thought through to its last detail. It engages the students in profound thinking appropriate to their age. One layer builds onto the next like a Russian doll. Jamie is an excellent teacher who has a deep understanding of mathematics and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. Many children have shown significant improvement in their math skills and has gained confidence in their ability to solve problems. My daughter started the year as a reluctant math student, and she is ending the year with math as her favorite subject! So much of that is because she truly adores Mr. York! His enthusiasm, curiosity, and calm, steady energy have been the biggest blessing in our home this year. Our math work group has also been amazing. Her math progress over the past year is astounding.
