  I struggled with this review. We had our wedding there which was AMAZING! Casey is the real reason for this review. She gets 10 stars if I could. It was a cold rainy October, they provided heat but the propane kept running out since they used a small bomb to heat a larger heater. The staff member there had to keep changing it, but it got pretty cold in the reception tent due to lack of propane. We were gifted a certificate to come back which we were ever so grateful for! We decided to come back over Christmas. The lodge was closed due to the holiday which I 100% agree with so it was a self check in kind of thing. Prior to booking I had asked if the cabin had all kitchen ware we would need to cook, just basic stuff. We were told it was equipped with all basics, i.e. pots, pans, cutlery. However the day before we checked in they moved us to a smaller cabin, and when we got there, there was a small frying pan, a few spoons, forks,butter knives, and spatula. I had to run to Walmart to grab a pot, and didn’t even realize there were no other knives besides butter knives. I cook and cut Christmas dinner (prime rib, potatoes, Brussel sprouts) with a butter knife. Not ideal. I understand things go missing, and I’m sure it should have had everything we needed, but it didn’t. If I had known things were missing I was happy to have brought them from home (like the roasting pan for the prime rib). Over all we love Stone Mountain Lodge and it will always hold a special place for us... just wish we would have been able to be a little more prepared.

  We started coming here after the flood in order to pump money back into the economy and it has become a tradition to come here when we want to get out of Denver. This is a comfortable, inexpensive, low key, clean, no frills kind of place. Am easy drive to Estes Park and then we got Oscar Blues for dinner.

  Attended for a wedding - service was excellent (the staff was helpful with everything from questions to assisting with logistical issues without asking). The lodge is tucked up against a mountain just outside of Lyons in an accessible but beautiful location. The lawn for the outdoor ceremony was well manicured and cared for.

  Friendly people, clean room and facilities. Well maintained grounds. Multiple spots for groups of people to mingle. Our party had a great overall wedding experience. Would go here again.
