My son heard a cat crying out one morning. He could tell she was in distress by the tone of her VERY LOUD cry, but couldn't locate her.???? My other son & a couple neighbor girls discovered the tiny, black kitten trapped inside a car.
She had crawled up between the grill & the radiator of a car & was unable to get out. The only way to reach her was to remove the cover.
The owner spoke polish & was unable to understand what I wished to do. Only conveyed that he had to get ready for work. ????
The VCA staff offered to speak to the owner of the car over the phone & translate the situation. They convinced him to allow the mechanic I called for help to remove the cover which would open access to the kitten.
She was likely in there for approx 2 days, was scared, dehydrated & starving. She drank every drop of water & ate every crumb of food we were able to give to her, looking for more.
I brought her to VCA to make sure she was ok otherwise.
Other than being under-sized (likely the runt), they gave her a clean bill of health. She was treated for fleas, & happily sent off with a goodie bag. Given how dirty she was, the fleas, & her conflicted reaction to humans, it's assumed Mama was a stray. We were able to find her a new loving home the next day.
VCA staff played a key role in saving a tiny kitten's life. A HUGE thank you to Claudia who used her charm to help a group of kids do a good deed.
