Great place to sit on the bank and watch the river float by, great scenery of the Palisades, Elsah Illinois is across the way (i posted an image I took from the bank here), and there are established Bald Eagle Nest on the Islands. It depends on the person; either you expect things to be there for your personal convenience or maybe what's there naturally to see is all you need?
The energy in the river makes it a pretty special place, often quiet and seldom visited on weekdays
It was a private marina that a tornado took out, now a park
Nice park. Came here to launch my jet ski. They have 2 ramps: one in a cove with a dock 20 feet away, the other on the river with no dock. It can get quite busy with only 2 ramps, but I only waited 10 minutes to launch. This would be a 5 star park if the road was paved and there were more boat ramps.
The bathrooms were TERRIBLE BUT this is very nice place to relax and hangout. The park was clean not overcrowded and the fishing is good if you have a little patience! Lol all the men left empty handed most were out all day. Fortunately I'd been watching a particular spot and wouldn't ya know it I caught 5 catfish all by myself different sizes. Not sure what the other 7 fish are called but they're a good size fish...For a first time fisher-woman 😁😁 I think this place is the bomb.com
