Dr Wegner performed surgery on my foot & tendon in Jan. Throughout the last 7 mos he has helped immensely in my recovery. He is very professional, competent & kind & will work with you to manage all expectations. His staff (PA & Nurse) were great & spent considerable time with me answering all questions. Dr. Wegner performed a cheilectomy approximately 6 weeks ago on my big toe. Prior to surgery I had a hard time even walking my dog for more than a mile, and would have to limp through the rest of the day. The surgery he performed was a new “minor invasive” surgery that was done arthroscopically. In short, I have two Iittle incisions instead of one big long one. Other surgeons I met with in Omaha would have done the procedure making a large incision which would have meant a significantly longer rehab. From what I’ve been told, at 6 weeks out most people that do the “old” surgery are just starting to walk without the boot/shoe and it’s still quite swollen and painful. Due to Dr. Wagner doing the surgery arthroscopically, at 6 weeks out, I’ve been walking with out the boot/shoe for a month and have been working out for several weeks! I can’t yet perform a lunge while working out, but I am walking, running, and being active again. This is the best my foot has felt in 2 years! Dr. Wegner was great…I can’t say enough positive about him and my entire experience at MD West One. Don’t go somewhere else and have them do the old procedure….you will be thankful you went with Dr. Wegner and the arthroscopic surgery!
