Da Long Yi Hot Pot

I read contradict comments about this restaurant before the visit, but it exceeded my expectation. The soup bases of both spicy beef and pork and chicken broth are very flavorful. Very authentic and be careful: extremely spicy in the good way!

It’s pretty good. The ingredients are high quality for hotpot. I like the tofu skins. The signature beef tallow broth is very spicy and rich even if you get the “mild version”. Highly recommend doing the signature block along with the tomato broth. The scallops can be skipped as you really only get three scallops cut in half for $16, which isn’t worth it in my view. The fried pork belly is very very good. It has peppercorns in the batter for a spice numbing flavor that is fairly mild but may challenge some more sensitive western pallets.

We have Hot Pot 火锅 at home on the regular. We also travel to Chongqing to my in-laws home where Hot Pot is king, to say the least, we eat Hot Pot very frequently.

That said, Da Long Yo Hot Pot was a really great experience. From the time I was greeted till the time I left, the service was attentive, and very helpful. The menu has to be scanned with your phone, the app is relatively intuitive and you can order as much as you like. I ordered the extra spicy broth and it was exactly what I was looking for. The thinly sliced beef was amazing and the udon noodles always go well with hot pot.

Highly recommend and looking forward to my next visit.

First time to try hotpot at this location…. And I have to tell you that, it was pretty great.
We managed to order lots of food and finish it! Surprisingly.
Great place to come with friends and enjoy dinner.
Will be back!
