Lock 8 Park

Quite a nice park with a good natural environment presented by the woods, river, and beautiful scenery. It is a good place to exercise in. I enjoy my long walks in the trail here every time I am in it.

Plenty of space for multiple groups to do their own thing, riverfront always a good spot for lunch, boats going through the lock interesting to watch, must be good fishing based on number of folks doing that, (port-a-potties aplenty)

Very unique and close look at a movable dam and lock. The canalway trail goes right through. Good place to park, but bathrooms. About a quarter mile south is Lock 23 from the 1830s-1860s enlarged canal. While not restored it is somewhat preserved and has educational material.

A nice and quiet place close to home if nesting in Rotterdam/Schdy... There is alot of room for fishing. 1 can watch the boats passing through the locks, got for a walk or bike on the bike path. Even bring some burgers and charcoal for there are grills to use. Just be sure to clean up after 1s self, we got to keep our gems beautiful.

Very nice place to relax and if you want to fish, fish I personally don't but very nice very peaceful and free
