We love to come and watch the Christmas lights. The singing Christmas trees were my favorite.

Shadow Hills Farm far exceeded our expectations!

The cabin is cozy, clean, comfortable and also has air conditioning, as well as a TV with streaming options. Yes, there's Wi-Fi, though the surroundings are so nice and peaceful that the noise of the internet and TV was the last thing we wanted during our entire stay, since it clashed with the relaxing sounds of the birds and the constant breeze through the trees.

There's a separate cabin, which has a fridge, bar/counter with pretty much all the amenities you'd need to make hot beverages, store cold drinks and perishables, as well as prep whatever you plan to put on the grill. Oh yeah, there's a propane grill that works really well! The hosts thought of everything, there was nothing that we needed that they hadn't supplied. Plus, there's the option of a great breakfast and lunch place not more than about two miles away.

There's also a really nice fire pit with more than enough fire wood. Even the outhouse is impressive; hand sanitizer dispenser and extra toilet paper, no bugs or mosquitoes, and it didn't smell! As for the outdoor shower, it's very clean and well designed.

At night there are nice, dim lights on the trees to light up the area to see your way around but without taking away from the country ambience.

It's worth mentioning that the hosts are awesome! They're so nice and welcoming, available to answer any questions, yet are out of sight, leaving you to enjoy the surroundings with privacy.

Suffice it to say that "I'll be back!" … we'll be back. This place is a hidden gem.

Update October 2022: Back to see the foliage second week of October. Even with rain and fog, the colors did not disappoint.

My cousin was getting married, and it happened to be a weekend event, with a BBQ on Friday, and ceremony/reception on Saturday. My boyfriend suggested that we should find a place nearby, and make it a weekend getaway, considering the events were about an hour North of us. Upon his search, he came across this location. With impressive photos, and a compelling price, we just couldn't pass it up. We were so excited for this trip!

Upon our arrival, we were awe struck by the festive displays on the property, and became even more curious as it seemed there was more to it than meets the eye, which we later discovered there is! Further into the property, we found our resting place. The cutest little cabin on what appeared to be a private campsite, with an outdoor shower, a shed equipped with all of your cooking needs and speakers for outdoor music, playground for the kids, a portapottie, and an outhouse. To be honest I was quite skeptical of the bathroom situation, but I was pleasantly surprised as to how clean those spaces were. I especially liked the option of having both, and while I did try the outhouse experience, I found myself most comfortable with the portapottie. The cozy/romantic cabin itself, is perfect for two, with plenty of outdoor space for others. A space that is also shared with CoCo the Donkey, and Penny the miniature horse, as their pen and barn are just a few steps away. They are very friendly and added to the overall experience you don't typically have everyday.

So much thought has gone into this space, you won't have to worry about whether you've forgotten anything. I especially admired the minor details such as the clever little arrow labeled flashlight hanging next to the flashlight, and the hand crafted woodwork displayed in the cabin. There are many games to play, solar lighting throughout the outdoor space, and so many other available necessities that you'd have to see for yourself, as there are too many to list. You get so much more out of this location than what you see on the website. Though we found our way through to the cabin, I would suggest maybe a sign by the pond "Airbnb This Way" with an arrow, to show the way in to it. Though the website shows what we obviously should have been looking for, the GPS brought us to your house which initially brought us some confusion as to whether we went to the right entrance/location.

If you ever get the chance to stay here, please meet Ken! Listen to his story and learn about his involvement with the community. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, have referred our friends and family, and will definitely return in the future.

To Ken and his wife, thank you so much for your hospitality, and for sharing your animals with us.

    Sincerely,

    Tiffani & Michael

Shadow hills farm blew us away! From the decor to the amenities Shadow Hills farm went above and beyond any expectations. Upon arrival we were greeted with a beautifully setup common area. The twinkle lights strung all over, brought a stunning ambience. The hosts were so gracious and accommodating. They were there when we needed them but gave us our privacy. The bar area was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need to create a meal! The fire pit was immaculate and the wood was plentiful! The outdoor shower was awesome! It was like bathing in the rain. The playground area was as well, immaculate and well tended to. The outhouse was clean and perfectly stocked. The cabin itself was amazing! Adorably decorated! It was equipped with anything and everything you might need! It was clean and very comfortable! My only complain is that we didn't stay long enough... I can confidently say we will be returning!
