Great trail. Many decent views. A few spots are rocky but not too bad, even with a baby carrier. About an hour each way from the trailhead II, which is half way up.
Good and easy hike. Nice view of the blue mountain bridge and Hudson river.
Good for a moderate hike. The view at top isn't as nice as one might expect given its location overlooking the hudson. A bunch of other more difficult and more rewarding hikes few miles north. We were eaten alive by mosquito when we went on late summer rainy day. Bring your DEET and bring plenty of it!
Good hike ! You get sweeping views of the Hudson and bear mountain bridge at the top. There are some steep sections on the trail, and I'd consider it a moderate to strenuous hike, depending on fitness levels. I love that every so often on the trail, you are treated with awesome views of the open landscape and the bear mountain bridge, till you finally get to the top.
If you're coming from Manhattan its a short drive to here. It only took us 1hr15 mins. We packed a picnic and hiked up the trail around 11am. Its hard for about the first hour but after that it eases up. We headed to the top where you see the flag and have the spectacular view of the bear mountain bridge. We also packed a picnic and had a feast big a big rock not to far from the top. The total time of the hike was maybe 3 hrs. 4 because of the picnic.
