Beautiful scenery. Nice place for a picnic. No kid friendly activities though. Perfect motorcycle ride destination.
Stunning gorge, fabulous photo opp. Dog friendly, plenty of parking & seating. Perfect little stop if you're on the road. Loved it, wondrous sight! Pretty awe inspiring.
Your choice is simple. You can drive 300 miles to Niagra Falls with the kids in the back of the car beating the war drums of "ARE WE THERE YET!", or you can fill a picnic basket with yummy stuff and head over to Croton Gorge, which is just as spectacular, a lot less crowded, and a heck of a lot closer. The choice is yours...
Beautiful! Breathtaking! Best to catch it at less crowded time. The park is big and you can picnic there. There's a playground for kids and tables to eat and grill. You can go check out the lake under the bridge. I climbed up to the dam, to reveal an even more amazing view with an overflow. Must visit.
What a beautiful park! Honestly one of the nicest places I've ever been to. Right when you drive into the park, there's this breathtaking waterfall coming from the Dam. There is a beautiful park with tons of grassy areas to make a picnic or play ball. Plenty of parking. There's beautiful trails to hike to the top of the dam or you can drive. Either way, it's a must see. The view from on top is incredible.
Croton Dam is the highlight of the 97 acre Croton Gorge Park. The park has many hiking paths as well as a bridge over the impressive dam from the Croton River above. There is a playground and picnic tables near the dam, and the park is very popular for fishing. Swimming is not allowed in the river.
