A wonderful one way trip around the preserve, with twists and turns and climbs and descents to keep you engaged riding, running, or walking. A gem in Raleigh!
Nice peaceful trails, pretty views, lots to see and look at and they are continuously updating it. We enjoy going on family walks here. The parking lot is spacious and we've never had issues getting a parking spot even on busy days. I think the biggest thing we dislike is that this place is like a holy grail for bikers or something. We constantly have to step out of the way to allow bikers to pass us. There are some trails that are walking only, especially because they are narrow trails, but some people blatantly ignore that and you have to jump out of the way when a biker comes tearing down the trail. I don't know what can be done about it but it makes it harder to enjoy when I have to constantly keep looking far ahead and far behind to make sure my daughter won't get run over by a biker. But we will still continue to use this trail because it does offer some pretty spots to explore.
Beautiful forested natural area with shared hiking and biking trails. Trails are flowy and beginner friendly, but also fast for more advanced riders. Very peaceful and tranquil area. Parking lot was full by 11:00 am on a chilly weekend. Check the website to ensure it is open on the day you wish to visit (area closes if rainy/wet)
This is quite the little gem that we didn’t know about until some poking around on Google Maps. We are so glad we checked it out because the trails were great. There are a few different trails that can be combined together to go further or shorter depending on how long you’d like to be out. Also mountain bike friendly and there were a lot out when we were there.
Awesome place to walk the dog/ get a run in. Trails keep unfolding and folding with much unexpected beauty. Cool bike trails too! Didn’t have mine with me but I wish I did! Very well kept.
