    Easy breezy back country roads tour on a single scooter in Bird in Hand. Easy to book online, only took 1” to learn how to ride, 4 country stops, 25 mph, about 3 hours. I recommend!

    I took the Country Roads Excursion tour at the new Bird-in-Hand location. I went with a friend and there were 2 other couples on the same tour that had gone on a tour at the Strasburg location last year. The tour was great. I grew up and live in Lancaster County, so I’m pretty familiar with the area, but got to see a whole other side of the local area. On our three hour tour we stopped by an Amish woodworking shop, an Amish roadside stand with canned goods, a goat farm with a homemade cheese shop, an Amish woodworking shop and a working Amish dairy farm. The weather was perfect, the countryside was beautiful and we even ran across a herd of camels on a roadside farm! Our guide, Cookie, made the tour fun with lots of jokes and interesting facts about the area. I had never driven a scooter before, and she had me feeling safe and comfortable in just a few minutes during the training time before the tour. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to tour the Lancaster area and/or experience the Amish culture. Definitely better than your standard tour experience.
