My mother has been living here for just over a year and she's had no complaints. They've done an outstanding job during covid. My mother and I can at times have a dark back and forth banter, all in good fun. I've teased her before that when she's old as he'll I'm putting her in the worst facility imaginable. She'd laugh and laugh. She knew I would never. When the time actually came she refused to move in with me. So I researched and I really liked Morningside. She still has some indipendence. She has made quite a lot of friends and she feels safe during this scary time. The staff according to her is stupendous.

The staff at Morningside is so attentive and kind, they really do make such a difference in the lives of the people they care for. The community is warm and bright and the food always smells amazing! Their focus on safety and going above and beyond for each resident is second to none.

Early in 2019, my mother experienced a serious medical problem requiring a surgical hospital stay as well as an extended stay in a skilled nursing facility. In looking to transition her to an assisted living facility in the Franklin area, I wanted to find a place that would feel like a home to her-being a place that was not too large, with a caring and quality staff to support her needs, while being convenient to us living here in the Franklin area.
We really hit a home run with Morningside, and have been so pleased with everything since her moving there in April of 2019. I would characterize Morningside as a "sweet" place that my mother now calls home.
The facility design is perfect for the residents in that it is not so large for the residents to easily navigate throughout the facility to find their apartments. The staff is always helpful and sweet to the residents, and
it seems more like a family setting than seen in larger facilities.
My mother refers to Wendy, the Executive Director, as her friend. Wendy has an open door policy to all residents, and as a result, she works countless hours to maintain those important resident relationships as well as getting her work done to insure that Morningside runs smoothly.
The Nursing Staff is always so kind and patient, providing the guidance my mother needs in medication compliance. The Resident Assistants are so kind and helpful to her-she refers to them as nurses as well-they are very patient with her, and we appreciate their assistance.
I have not heard complaints from my mother with the food served, and that is something to say, coming from an excellent country cook for most of her life! Good food is such an important aspect in helping to keep the residents happy!
Tori, the Activities Director is so energetic and fun-just what my Mom needs to get her out of her room and participating in the many activities going on at Morningside.
Charles, the Maintenance Director, practically lives there, in order to make sure that all is well with the facility and its residents.
In summary, I must say that when moving a parent to an assisted living facility, a certain amount of guilt can be experienced, as this is a significant step and life change for a new resident and family members. I can honestly say those feelings were minimized as a result of my mother moving to Morningside of Franklin. We soon found that she was quickly welcomed into her new home by both staff and residents, and we knew that we did not have to worry about her when were not there. She was being well-cared for, and we could depend upon the staff to communicate with us if there was something that required our attention. We are so pleased!

In the late fall of 2018, my husband and I visited several assisted living communities before suggesting Morningside in Franklin to my mother-in-law, who was widowed after 63 years of marriage and who was experiencing memory loss. In January of 2019, just a year ago, she joined the Morningside community where the staff support has been phenomenal, helping her to have not only a safe but more importantly a joyful life. Wendy, the community director, is not a sit-at-your-desk administrator. She is out and about with the residents, engaging cheerfully and listening sincerely. Tori, the activities director who is energetic and fun, plans projects that sustain cognitive and physical health as well as build relationships among the families and residents. Often helping the residents plan and lead special events, Tori searches for ways that the residents can take ownership of and contribute to their community. ALL the resident assistants – who are compassionate and quick to help - feel like family to us. We feel especially that we’ve known Cristina, Eileen, and Pat a lifetime, not just twelve months. ALL the resident assistants anticipate my mother-in-law’s needs and have offered supportive suggestions to make her life easier. The nurses, Kelly and Tracie, are knowledgeable and patient helping coordinate my mother-in-law daily’s care, including any necessary visits with the nurse practitioner who is on-site every Thursday. Laura, the nursing director, stayed in touch with us via text when my mother-in-law had a visit to the local emergency room and she remained at Morningside (after her regular workday hours) awaiting our return. Laura’s experience and insight helped us facilitate a smooth transition from home to Morningside. Charles, the maintenance director, works many hours caring for the building as if it is his own home; his energy and knowledge are incredible. Mercy and Sara, without their knowing, may be my mother-in-law’s favorites because they oversee a lovely dining room and nutritious/delicious menu. My mother-in-law raves about not having to worry about groceries or cooking! She says, “All I have to do is show up!” We know all these wonderful souls by name because the community’s size and family feel encourage that type of relationship with my mother-in-law and us. We love everything about Morningside: the one-story layout that is easy to navigate, a spacious yet cozy apartment, a rocking-chair porch, a serene courtyard, a small outdoor garden, assistance with meds, help with showering, daily exercise programs, interesting speakers on a variety of topics, pet therapy, lovely musical entertainment, seasonal parties, bingo, kind residents, and local volunteers. Residents have access to a well-stocked library of books, movies, and games; an on-site beauty salon; and transportation off-campus for outings and appointments. Morningside thinks of everything and living at Morningside has been a blessing for our family.
